I'm actually going on the 80s Cruise in a few weeks and I CAN 'T WAIT. I'm gonna scream-sing and chair dance and have cocktails in the sun. My husband is a good sport to go along, because he's a 70s Rock Guy, not an 80s Pop Guy.

WHAT IS THIS 80s CRUISE magic you speak of??? Do we all need to go and just stay on the boat a few years??

I love so much that even as you say you haven't been able to do your usual humorous stuff you give us 2 paragraphs right off the bat that feel like instant stress relief. Thank you.

I just spent the morning calling every representative (and every one of their offices) to say "DO YOUR JOB" and then called 3 people to ask them to do the same. This is to say, it was such a fun time thinking about an 80s concert. Do you think we can trace global warming back to the chemicals required to get that much volume in our collective hair?

I caught that same tour in 86 and it was spectacular. I’m glad you got to go. There is a comfort in it because the songs we sang back then were all about the world ending. Gen x just keeps hitting all the eras at the worst times I guess! Meanwhile, I still have a little letterboard on my desk and last week I changed it to read. “how much better can it get?” I was just starting to write about that so we are on the same wavelength. You, me, and Howard.

You made me laugh, my friend. Many, many times. Just like the old days. Nostalgia wins. Bless You. (on the oldies at an oldies concert them, Mark and I went/drove all the way to Chitown to see America last winter. I could barely see the dark road through my astigmatism and Mark called all the oversized trucks' ice block headlights unmentionable expletives here. In summary, we returned home past midnight for the first time in a long time, our egos soothed, my old man and I look pretty good. Pretty damn good.)

I don’t know if Austin theatre exec dir Jim spoke at beginning as he often does but one of my favorite things he says in regards to turning off phones is for the time we are in the Paramount to leave the outside world outside. It is a great escape place for me and glad y’all didn’t leap from the opera box

Immediately thought of tri-Lambs when I saw that pic. And now I have "Hello Lambdas, we're the Pi's.." in my head. Dammit.
